An itch
On 8 Aug 2020, it was 3 am and I was unable to sleep, cursing myself, why had I slept for 5 hrs at noon?
And then my eyes rolled toward the window and a thought came.
Let’s walk on the roof! I usually do weird things at certain times. I just do, I don’t know why.
My elvish mind with an unusual plan, I felt like a thief stealth mode was active inside me and I climbed stairs like a cat.
It was unbelievable. As Delhi always remain in the top 10 most polluted cities list, stars were always eid’s moon itself.
But it is also true that in lockdown, maybe due to lack of transport usage Delhi’s sky view was clear as Rajasthan’s desert night.
I enjoyed the cool breeze for an hour and found that I had never witnessed a sunrise.

Where the hell have I spent 20 years on this earth? without witnessing a single sunrise, which has been happening every day since the beginning of the world – I chatter in my mind.
It’s already 4 am now, the sun is about to rise and if it’s my first sunrise then why not witness it at India gate?
India gate! oh, damn what the fuck, I also never visited India gate.
Now I can’t wait for any more. I go downstairs and catch my phone, shoes and MTB.
Further, I will think after reach there – I said to myself.

Then at 4:30 am I was on my MTB and the journey had already begun.
I took a long way as there is still more time in the sunrise. This is a train engine statue built on the roadside to add decoration to the area nearby the legendary India gate.
I was on the back side, or don’t know what is the right angle view. But it’s a round circle where I was paddling happily, and a newspaper delivery guy was rushing.
I was not alone, and neither did I think that. Many riders are already there some were resting while some were about to go.
Water calms me, water calms everybody. A beautiful man-made pond-like structure can be viewed everywhere at India gate.
Finally, at 5:30 around for the first time, I witness sunrise and India gate together. It was a wonderful experience I ever felt in life.
